Federated Gateway Model
The KSDL uses a federated gateway approach. A central control plane handles governance, discovery, and authorisation — giving leadership full visibility and control. Data flows directly between systems, so the gateway never becomes a bottleneck.
Think of it as air traffic control: the tower sets the rules and grants clearances, but the planes fly their own routes.
